is this today? it is still upper 80’s here!
This was six years ago. June Lake, CA. A snowboarding trip with the Queen.
ah, nice!!
It really was. I hope to live someplace like that for at least a little while.
You scared me for a second. #noSnow
Well, technically, it did snow in Mammoth today…
It’s good to be in Long Beach. š
I’d rather be in Mammoth.
*sigh* can’t help someone once the mountains nod at them.
Oh, I love that!
Did you ever read The Farthest Away Mountain?
Not yet!! I will!
We have snow here in the mountains in Utah. Looks really pretty. Dreading when it makes landfall in the valley though.
Quick, soak in the last couple of days before winter truly does come!! Go for walks. Ride bikes. Go to the beach… wait… sorry, that was my list. And we don’t get winter here so there’s no rush.
Never say never… š :p
š Whoops. Okay, I won’t let it happen again.
Not sure if you know this about me but I was born and raised in Iowa, so I am all too familiar with snow-infused winters – brrrrrrr!!!!! I am happy to be living in the warmth of Florida now, no more scraping windshields or bundling up!
I didn’t know that, no. How fun! I’ve heard it is quite miserable and all that but I sure do enjoy the snow when I go find it.
It’s one thing to visit the snow but quite another to live in it!!
It’s one of those things “you know” but don’t really “know, know” until you’ve actually done it. I suspect, anyway.
I may be writing some senryus this month. LOL Yes they keep saying winter is upon us…but there is no evidence I can see. How did you fake this picture. LOL š
Hahaha! I didn’t fake it!! The Queen and I got snowed on one of our trips up to June Lake / Mammoth. The rest of the story is that we decided not long afterwards that my truck was not suited for driving in such conditions and we got a Subaru… and I sold the truck this year… finally… so, this happened once, and will never happen again. Now you know the rest of the story.
And so..Paul Harvey hooked you as well. š
Love Mammoth. Suburus are pretty awesome. Can’t wait for the rest of your posts.
I know you are going to like them. Heck, I even like them. And that’s not always true.
Only once? It’s pretty but not fun to drive in.

Been there, done that. Try 5 inches of snow on Oct. 5 (a few years ago) and a few years prior two successive Halloween trick or treat nights at minus 5 degrees F or lower, lol. Take care/ xo.
Sounds like an adventure!
Well the below freezing temps was horrible, we each traded off a three-house visit then a run to the heated car. The Oct. 5 snowfall was a snow day for school kids since the school wasn’t prepared that early in the year, we usually don’t get a snow day unless it’s over a foot. My daughter spent almost the entire morning sledding down our steep driveway!
Praying we don’t get the white stuff over here in the UK. I can cope with the rain and a cold wind, but snow turns to slush so quickly that it’s just vile.
Brilliant haiku, Sir Jester.
