Which is more potent, a word or a knife? Each is a means to an end of a life. Both can strike without prediction. Both can wound with self-infliction. Word delivers spoken lashes. Knife delivers welted slashes. Word targets mind with verbal assault. Knife targets skin with fracture and fault. Word creates chaos as mind breaks within. Knife creates mayhem as blade breaks the skin. Which is more potent, a word or a knife? Each is a means to the end of a life.
This is good, Jaded.
Dark, yes. But, well paced and composed.
I am always glad to see you sharing your poetry here.
Twisting it around a bit… Sculptures and crafted with loving care with the aid of a knife. And words have the power of hope and love to lift and heal as well. Words and knives are dangerous only when there is a dangerous intent behind those who wield them.
Thank you…each has a double edge. Sometimes that is hard to remember. Thank you for letting me post.
I know all to well how hard it can be to remember and see the positive in things. We’ve got to keep looking though.
PS. It’s fauxetry. 😉
That doesn’t make it any less good.
well composed.
Thank you.
welcome
1Jaded1,
I feel the cathartic effects of your writing. You’re not too dark for a Red Wing Girl. 🙂
Love,
Mark
Hi Mark – Thanks for making me smile. We Red Wings fans have seen the light and the dark. 😀
Better to write than act it.
