just another sunrise

The sun ripped open the sky, a gash of fire.  The resting clouds acted like a torch, a match to set the horizon alight.  The edge of the world burned, a towering inferno of brilliant flames.

I blinked.

The moment passed.

The sun had risen too far.

The clouds squelched the raging flames.

And the world carried on without realizing how close it had come to being consumed.


The sun would try again that evening.

  1. It tries EVERY DAY! at least 2 times as I can tell… TELL THE NEWSPAPERS… CALL NASA!!! WE must stop this invasion of…. what… it’s the sun? Oh LOL so embraced… NO MORE Doomsday PREPPERS on Nat Geo… 😦
