On 2/22/2013 we asked you to play a game of Tug-of-War with us to once and for all determine which came first: the chicken or the egg.
And play along you did!
Thank you all for the great support and great responses. I think we will have to have another round of tug-of-war sooner rather than later. If you have questions you think would be good for future games you can leave them as a suggestion in the comments or host your own tug-of-war.
But, to business.
The Egg team quickly and efficiently came out strong, and while the Chicken team mounted a late charge, the egg team pulled the chicken team into the mud:
Final tally:
Chicken team: IIIII I (6)
Egg team: IIIII IIII (9)
“42” team: I (1)
Plaudits abound to those who chose Eggs over Chickens. Your victory will go down in the tomes of history for all time… or until the next game of tug-of-war depending on what you choose then and how the results turn up.
Go show the winning team some love:
Spunky Wayfarer
Blog of the Imaginator
SenorPez
JC
UndercoverL
dmaudlin53
Kim
The Phoenix
Mr. Atheist
Okay, okay, go show the chicken team some love too (we are all winners here):
rommel
Steph
Tammy Gardner
Rara
fibot
Jon
And the 42 team (since 42 is the the answer to life, the universe, and everything):
DesertRat
Thanks again for playing! Check back next week (probably) for the next installment in this new game that is taking the kingdom by storm.
Yay Team Egg! And I didn’t even have to be the anchor in this tug-of-war.
I mean, well played. Good show.
Bravo! Hurrah! GOOOOooooooOOOOOO Team!
Egg-cellent ! Can’t wait for the next round of Tug-o-War !
😀 What will we solve next?
I guess my answer was too all encompassing.
It is a bit broad – seeing as how it covers life, the universe, and everything… while technically being right, we were looking for something a little more ‘granular.’
[…] and the winner is…. […]
Well-played, all! 😀 This was fun! Thanks for hosting it!!
You’re very welcome. Thanks for providing the format for the game!
Let’s make omelets!
We do seem to have a bunch of eggs hanging about. Why not. I’ve got a whisk around here somewhere.
Hahahahaha! Burn chickens! Burn! In your clucking faces!
Sorry. Good try. Go Team Egg!
Haha!
Oh wait…
We here at The Matticus Kingdom support sportsmanship!
(go team egg)
So, please refrain from any excessive celebration or victory flaunting comments; as the chicken team put forth good effort and are worthy of our respect.
(go team egg!)
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
(Also, we are into subliminal messages – go team egg!)
Sounds like you had a lot of fun!
I’d say a good time was had by all! Now we just have to come up with a suitable question for: “Tug-of-War – The Rematch! This time it gets serious.”
To all those on both sides who didn’t write a post but wrote your comments here, or who wrote posts but for which there was no way to comment there: eggcelent work everybody – big up to the egg team!
Yes, thanks to everyone who participated! I tried to ensure the official counter got everyone’s support tallied correctly and I hope “we” didn’t miss anyone.
New question. It’s the age old question (much like this one): Why do hot dogs come in packages of 8 and hot dog buns come in packages of 10?
Oh my gosh!!!! That’s it! That’s the one!
[…] The winning side will be the one that gets the most support, and their reward will be the knowledge that they chose wisely and eternal fame across the kingdom. Like these people: Eggs. […]
