Once Versatiled, Twice Shined

I guess you have been entertained…

The Matticus Kingdom has been nominated for a couple more awards.  Once again, as court jester and chief scribe (among other things) the responsibility falls on me to graciously accept these nominations and carry out the instructions that come with them.

First things first:  THANK YOU!!! MischievousEyez, TwinDaddy, and April.

For clarification purposes, that’s MischievousEyez of My thoughts, My life, TwinDaddy of Stuphblog, and April of Ponderingspawned fame and fortune.

(Did you see what I did there – In two sentences I managed two pingbacks for each of my award bestower type people.  They teach you those sorts of tricks in jester school.)

…..

Second piece of business:

Rules of the Versatile Blogger Award:

1. Display the award logo on your blog.
2. Thank and Link back to the person who nominated you.
3. State 7 things about yourself.
4. Nominate 15 bloggers for this award.
5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination by linking to one of their specific posts so that they get notified by ping back.

7 things about me:
1) My name is Inigo Montoya Matticus, you would like my father, prepare to be amazed.
2) I have survived the 3 dangers of the Fire Swamp Southern California living: lightning sand Death Valley, flame spurts Santa Ana Winds, and the ROUS’s California Desert Tortoise (their beaks are really sharp!).
3) I have 6 5 fingers on both my left and right hands.
4) I think masks are terribly comfortable itchy.
5) I don’t think I will ever grow tired of quoting Princess Bride.
6) I’ve spent the past few years building up a tolerance for iocane powder spicy Thai food.
7) I always have fun storming the castle, the Qwikimart, the highlands, the OK Corral, the beach volleyball court.

……

Rules of the Shine On Award:

“This award is for the blogs that shine, make you feel good and are inspiring to the reader.”

  1. Link back to the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Nominate fifteen bloggers who shine a little light in your day and be sure to notify them.
  3. Share some facts about yourself or answer questions given to you.

Questions from twindaddy and my answers:

  1. Who is your favorite comedian?  Why?   – Robin Williams because “Nanu-Nanu!”
  2. You try to silently let out a fart to relieve the pressure building up but, OOPS, it was a shart.  What do you do now? – Nothing, it’s my kingdom and I can shart if I want to.
  3. Did you watch the Academy Awards? Why or why not? – No, partially because I forgot they were on (unbelievable with all the press they had ahead of time, I know) and partially because I was watching an NCIS marathon instead.
  4. If you could have any person, alive or dead, guest post on your blog who would it be?Stephen King
  5. You’re just standing there, minding your own business, when suddenly you feel your pants fall down to your ankles.  You’ve been pantsed.  What do you do?  How do you get back at the asshole that did it? – Nothing, because it’s my Kingdom and I’ll just play it off as I’m starting a new fashion trend – the pants around your ankles look is going to be all the rage in the spring.  (Secretly, though, the perpetrator will be dealt with – I have people for that.)

…..

  1. You’re welcome Djmatticus! One small correction, my blog is called Ponderingspawned, I’m April, and thoughts from the aether is my site tagline. I’m glad you made the mistake though because it made me realize that perhaps the tagline and site title should be better distinguished!

    Oh, and nice ping-backing!

      • Here we go. State 7 things about yourself.

Well since I don’t really know yourself that well, I’ll state 7 things about myself.

        1. I used to DJ too.
        2. I was horrible at it.
        3. I used to bartend also at that bar where I DJ’d.
        4. I once answered the phone and was asked if the good DJ or the young bad DJ would be there that night. I was the young bad one.
        5. Outside in the bar parking lot lived a family of Kill-deer. I’m a huge fan of Kill-deer.
        6. One of my favorite books by Stephen King is “Eye Of The Dragon.” Or “Eyes,” not sure which. In it there’s a big castle, and every time I stop by here I imagine your castle to be that castle.
        7. I’ve often thought of guest blogging here, but lately I’ve had almost no good inspiration for blogging and have no idea what to write about for here. After all, there are high expectations around these parts! I can’t just ramble off something incoherent and “whack” like back at my joint. PEOPLE EXPECT RESULTS HERE! I can’t hang with that… I’m not good enough for results! I really need to go back to bed.
        8. Sorry for rambling like that.
        9. I know I’m only supposed to do 7. I won’t charge you for these extra two.

      • People expect results? Uh oh, I could be in trouble – most of the time I’m just rambling too! You’d be welcome to guest post! I could even send you some prompts if you wanted? Though, I like your brand of randomness and would post anything you sent my direction. (Eyes of the Dragon is one of my favorite SK books outside of the Dark Tower series.)

      • Yeah, Eyes of the Dragon rules. Sure, send me some ideas for what to write about and we’ll go from there. My email is my name at gmail.

    • No worries. Acceptance is always optional. For a time I wasn’t accepting them anymore either… And then Rara changed my mind and now I’m back to accepting them. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

  2. Well done and thank you 🙂 I WILL sit down this weekend and merge the awards I have won into one post and do all the things I must do, promise! 🙂

  3. Ooooooh congrats! And thank you I appreciate the award. I will accept the award in the next few days. It’s a bit hectic here at the moment.

    • Completely understand. Been running on fumes this week. Just been lucky that the daily prompts haven’t required too much time and energy to answer, and that I had time in the evenings to put together the rest of the posts I’ve done so they would be ready for the next morning.

  4. Congrats 🙂 well deserved of course 😀 and an awww thankyou so much kind sir … Must really finish my award post now lol lol … I keep putting it off :p … Ah the Princess Bride … Best quoted film with voices imitated ever by my kids 😀
