I’m struggling to fend off a head cold today, and I’m afraid to say I’m losing the battle.
I had ideas for solid posts today: insightful, funny, perhaps a touch irreverent. Alas, my poor besotted brain couldn’t articulate any of those ideas into anything tangible for your consumption.
So, instead you are getting some more pictures of one of my kitties and another shameless self promotion.
A few days ago I found myself on the couch. Yes, that one, that wondrously evil pile of cushions and comfort and distractions. Once again, I had the full intention of working on editing my NaNoWriMo project, which I’ve dubbed Sierra Storm, but then Sara jumped up on the couch with me.
And.
I.
Was.
Distracted.
How could I work when all that cute was going on?
I’m so glad you agree that I absolutely couldn’t.
It certainly helps me feel less guilty about missing out on prime editing time.
And we could leave it at that, but then this happened:
I’m hoping that isn’t her review of my work…

I love kitty pix, you can do that every day! I hope you feel better, too.
Thanks! Yes, my lovely kitties. If only they were good little subjects and were better at sitting for my photo sessions.
I wish I had an evil pile of cushions and comfort and distractions, my couch is not so much greatness. But I have the kitty so technically distraction is fully covered! Feel better
Hooray for fully covered distraction via a kitty! It’s the best way to go.
So cute!!! I can understand the distraction. The kitty, I mean. Hope you feel better soon!
You only understand the kitty distraction? Not the couch distraction in general??!
Sick people have every right to be distracted from their suffering … in every way possible.
So, at this point I shouldn’t admit that I wasn’t sick when those pictures were taken?
Oh. Ummm . . .
Nah.
Er… um… I retract my previous comment. It’s like it never happened. Or… I’m on Nyquil and no longer no what I’m saying (typing).
^_^ The ‘Nyquil defense’!
So much better than the twinkie defense!
Indeed. ^_^
Aw, now I fully understand about the kitty distraction
Get better soon – that’s an order
Order accepted. I’m working on it. Thanks!
Evil couch, still on checklist. Distracting Kittie, yes, I have one of those. But I want yours, too, to add to my growing online kitties list. I’ll have to add some pics of my own cat, she has similar markings to yours. Hope you feel better soon.
Already feeling better. Not completed whole but on the mend. Thank you!
What is it with pets and paper? That “dog ate my homework” seems like a lot more realistic of an excuse now that I have two dogs. And a cat.
Paper and plastic! Both of my cats will happily munch away on anything made of paper or plastic. I’d never heard of that before we adopted them.
Maybe it’s an adopted pet thing.
Could be. Doesn’t really matter though. Their cuteness makes up for any little quirks they may have. Besides, who are we to judge what they eat considering the stuff we put in our bodies.
That, sir, is a good point . . .
